Penza, 18 August 2014. PenzaNews. The “Kotany” [Kittehs] bloggers’ team of Leonid Svetlichny, Denis Sotnikov, Anton Kupryushin and Mikhail Ivanovsky has successfully defended their title of last year’s bowling champions and took the first place in the Fifth summer bowling championship among the media representatives. The event was organized by the news agency PenzaNews with support of the general partner “Rostelecom” and Bank Kuznetsky.

The annual event took place at the “Shikana” carting club last Friday, August 15, and sparked genuine interest among the Penza mass media community.

The winners got 1794 points throughout the whole competition (1364 points without the finals). The “Efiristy” [The Air-ists] team (united team of “Avtoradio” and “Russian Radio”) got 351 points less and took the second place with, overcoming the bronze winners, “Sharonavty” [The Ballooners] (publishing house “Nash Dom”), by just 2 points. The last two teams got 1443 and 1441 points respectively (1134 and 1046 points without the finals).

The regular participating team “Pristup Paniki” [Panic Attack] (regional newspaper “Penzenskaya Pravda”) did not get on the podium this year: it earned only 1016 points during the three qualification games.

The team “Devyatyi Val” [The Ninth Wave] (STRC “Penza”) had to swap their captain minutes before the game, Sergei Kozhevnikov replacing Olyesya Vishnyakova, and earned 985 points. Unfortunately, the camera operator support team, which arrived during the games, did not change the outcome of the competition.

The last team to drop out after the qualification was “RNTI – Media Group Penza” (newspaper “Pro City Penza,” portal Vpenze.ru, catalog “Pod klyuch”), which earned the second place last year; however, this year, they only managed to get 973 points.

However, the last three teams received the souvenirs from “Rostelecom” and Bank Kuznetsky.

The best player of the competition was Leonid Svetlichny, captain of “Kotany” bloggers’ team, who earned 594 points throughout all the games. He won the grand prize of the competition, a 40` 3D LED Full HD Samsung TV.

Leonid Svetlichny also received a certificate for 5 free HD and 3D films as part of the “Rostelecom” Video Rental service, which he will be able to use after connecting to the company’s “Interactive TV” program.

The winners from “Kotany” received a gift set of commemorative coins and bank notes minted by the Central Bank of Russia in 2013 from Bank Kuznetsky, as well as 16 Gb flash disk drives and photo frames from “Rostelecom.”

“Efiristy” team received portable sound systems from the general partner of the championship, as well as flash disk drives and other assorted souvenirs from Bank Kuznetsky.

The bronze-winning “Sharonavty” team received tabletop fans and flash disk drives.

The strongest players were also rewarded by “Shikana” carting club itself. The winning team received an Xbox-Zone entry certificate, while the silver and the bronze winners received bowling certificates. The best player won a free carting ride.
