Penza, 29 January 2015. PenzaNews. Over 200 karate athletes will take part in an open individual-team Penza championship, which starts at sports palace “Rubin” next Friday, January 30.

The competitions are organized in the framework of inter-regional tournament “Cup of the Volga Federal District,” dedicated to Yuri Osipov, first chairman of the Karate Federation of the Penza region, who greatly contributed to the development of this sport in the region.

The competitions will be held in kumite, training combat; and kata, formal performances.

According to the Internet service “Penza-Sport,” the grand opening of the two-day tournament will be held at 14.00.
