Alexander Kalashnikov, former mayor and Honorary Citizen of Penza, is currently the only contender for the office of the chairman in the regional Football Federation, Vitaly Antonov, presidium member of the Penza region Football Federation, president of the mini-football club “Laguna-UOR,” told PenzaNews on Thursday, June 16.

“We have only one candidate. Tomorrow, the presidium will decide the date for the extraordinary conference. Most likely, it will be on July. […] Also, tomorrow we will decide who will be voting from the areas and from the teams,” he explained.

As he clarified, Alexander Kalashnikov will be presenting his program for review during the extraordinary conference.

“It will be followed by the vote: I cannot tell if it will be open or closed,” the presidium member of the Penza region Football Federation noted.

As PenzaNews reported earlier, Nikolai Boleev, who had been heading the Penza region Football Federation since 2012, left his position on agreement with the presidium of the organization, in accordance with its decision during the June 3 extraordinary session.
