Over 1.5 mln tons of grain harvested in Penza region

Penza, 26 August 2016. PenzaNews. Farmers of the Penza region harvested more than 1.5 million tons of grain as of Friday, August 26, the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture told PenzaNews.

Over 1.5 mln tons of grain harvested in Penza region

“According to the operational information provided by regional agronomic services, the percentage of harvest in the region is 71%. The average yield of grain and leguminous crops in the province is 30 quintals per hectare,” the department explained.

The ministry noted that the high yield is registered in Bekovsky area — 37 centners per ha, Bashmakovsky area — 36 centners per hectare, as well as Belinsky and Kolyshleysky area — 35 centners per hectare.
