"Today our guys ran in their first races at the Olympics in Pyeongchang. You all did a great job. Carry on! We are supporting you and believe in you," he wrote on his Instagram account on Saturday, February 10.

Sophia Prosvirnova, Semen Elistratov, Ekaterina Konstantinova, Emin Malagich, Pavel Sitnikov, Ekaterina Efremenkova, and Alexander Shulginov were among the athletes he addressed his words to.
