Penza, 30 August 2018. PenzaNews. The head of the department for crime prevention and work with public associations and religious organizations of the Penza City Hall, Oleg Vikulov, warned Penza residents against participation in the procession against retirement age increase, which is planned to be held by supporters of opposition activist Alexei Navalny in Moskovskaya street on September 9 even though the event was not endorsed by the city authorities.

"I can advise only one thing – not to take part in the procession," he said answering a question of a PenzaNews correspondent caused by the fact that the organizers urge residents to ignore the suggestion of the City Hall to hold a rally in Druzhba public garden instead of a procession in Moskovskaya street.
According to Oleg Vikulov, if such a procession in the city centre does take place, it will have a status of an uncoordinated public event. Organization and participation in such an event is punished by law.
"And this is a choice of every person whether to break the law or not," the interlocutor added.
