Penza hospital with suspected Ebola patient took special security arrangements

Penza, 28 October 2014. PenzaNews. Special security arrangements will be taken in the special medical care center that received the hospitalized Nigerian student with a suspected case of Ebola, the official representative of the regional Ministry of Health told PenzaNews agency.
He stressed that the staff of the medical center took all the necessary precautions to prevent spread of Ebola in the Penza region.
“The special medical care center has set up a highly infectious disease infirmary where the patient will be located until his diagnosis has been established. His blood samples were cent to the Special Diacrisis Center of the Ministry of Defense in Sergiev Posad. We are expecting the laboratory results by the end of the week,” the agency interlocutor explained.
He also added that the patient is currently in satisfactory condition.
“People who were contacting with the patients have been placed under medical supervision,” the representative of the Penza region Ministry of Health summed up.
As PenzaNews agency reported earlier, the Nigerian student arrived to Penza on October 17 to study in the Belinsky Pedagogical Institute of the Penza State University. He is the first patient in the Penza region to be hospitalized with a suspected case of Ebola. The doctors registered high temperature, which is among the symptoms of the disease.
