Penza, 25 January 2016. PenzaNews. The Russian traveler Fyodor Konyukhov and the master of sports in balloon piloting Ivan Menyaylo, who departed in a hot air balloon of 3,950 cubic meters nearly a full day ago – at 7.55 of Sunday, January 24 – from the Sonino airport of the Tula region, with a potential finish in Mordovia or the Penza region, are still continuing their flight.

They have already beaten the previous Russian record set by themselves a year ago, when they aimed to last afloat in an AX-9 hot air balloon of 3,950 cubic meters for more than 17 hours. During their previous attempt, Fyodor Konyukhov and Ivan Menyaylo landed in the Ivanovo region after spending 19 hours and 10 minutes in the air.

Due to the weather conditions at night into Monday, January 25, the flight course was adjusted. Currently, the hot air balloon carrying Fyodor Konyukhov and Ivan Menyaylo is flying by Murom.

If the adventurers manage to stay afloat for over 30 hours, they will beat the world record set by William Bussy in 1993.

The flight course of the hot air balloon is broadcasted online.
