Kuvaytsev, Chipchiu, Denisov, Kozin, Kiselev among candidates for Penza mayor’s seat

Penza, 9 December 2015. PenzaNews. The contest committee for the vacant seat of the Penza city administration head decided to approve six submitted requests to take part in the contest out of seven who submitted their documents.

These are the Penza city head Victor Kuvaytsev, the Leninsky city area administration head Yuri Chipchiu, the Zheleznodorozhny city area administration deputy head Oleg Denisov, the former director of “Gorvodokanal” Alexander Kiselev, Penza resident, 32, Mikhail Kozin, and another contestant who asked “to not divulge their personal information.”
“Yuri Voblikov was not allowed to participate in the contest due to not submitting all documents required to the committee,” the City Duma added.
On 16 November 2015, the Penza region governor Ivan Belozertsev invited the then Penza mayor Yuri Krivov to work in the regional government; on the same day, the city manager has submitted an early resignation notice to the city head Victor Kuvaytsev.
The City Duma deputies unanimously supported Yuri Krivov’s resignation during the November 18 extraordinary session. On December 1, he was appointed deputy chairman of the Penza region government on social issues.
At the moment, Sergei Volkov, vice-mayor in education and social policy, is performing the duties of the mayor.
The submission period for documents of candidates seeking to replace the city administration head began on November 21, and ended at 12.00 of December 5. The winning candidate will be chosen on Friday, December 11.
