Number of drug trafficking crimes decreases in Penza region by almost 8%

Penza, 10 February 2022. PenzaNews. 1,121 crimes related to drug trafficking were registered in the Penza region in 2021, which is almost 8% less compared to 2020, when 1,215 cases were detected. This is evidenced by data on the state of crime in the region, published by the regional Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the supervisory authority, the number of investigated crimes in this area increased by almost 7% – from 616 in 2020 to 657 in 2021. In particular, 106 crimes committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy and 32 crimes committed as part of an organized criminal group and criminal community were investigated.
According to the Prosecutor’s office, the volume of narcotic drugs, psychotropic and potent substances seized from illegal circulation increased in the Penza region from 69.6 kg in 2020 to 113.8 kg in 2021.
