Penza, 14 March 2022. PenzaNews. 23 drivers were detained for driving while intoxicated during mass checks carried out in the Penza region from March 11 to 13. This is stated in a message posted on the website of the traffic police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the region.

“The main objective of the activities carried out is to ensure road safety and prevent road accidents caused by intoxicated drivers,” the text reads.

It reminds that according to Part 1, Art. 12.8 of the Code of Administrative Offence of the Russian Federation driving a vehicle in a state of intoxication leads to an administrative penalty equal to 30,000 roubles and the deprival of the right to drive for the period from 1,5 to 2 years if such actions do not include a penal act.
