Commercial fish production in Penza region increases by 33 times over 10 years

Penza, 21 January 2016. PenzaNews. The production volumes of fish for commercial purposes in the Penza region increased by 33 times over the past 10 years, the press service of the regional Agriculture Ministry informed PenzaNews agency.

“The fishery industry reached 54 tons of production in 2005. In 2015, commercial fish production volumes increased to 1,781 tons, in addition to 405 tons of fish caught recreationally,” they clarified.
According to the press service, the leaders in fish production are fish farms in the Vadinsk, Kamenka and Penza areas.
“Over the past year, the fisheries in the Vadinsk and Shemysheika areas increased their production by over 70%. Fish producers in the Belinsk, Kamenka and Penza areas also achieved great growth,” the Agriculture Ministry noted.
