“The main objective of this important federal research program is to gather as much valid and detailed information as possible about the agricultural field in our country, its structure, potential, current use and obstacles to further development, areas in need of state support and otherwise,” the head of the region pointed out.
The people involved in the agricultural field should not fear the census and answer all questions truthfully, he stressed.
“We often see people thinking that a census is held only to introduce new taxes or take money from people. That is not true! Valid and correct information makes it easier for us to choose the correct action, to make a precise tactical or long-term step. Our eventual objective in the agriculture is very simple: ensure that the population is provided with quality foods grown locally, and begin exporting them to other regions or even countries, generate as much new jobs in the villages as possible, improve lives of people in villages,” Ivan Belozertsev said.
According to him, the census will also help authorities learn more about the social aspects of living in villages.
“Dear compatriots, your truthfulness during the census – a civil and community duty of every one of us – will affect the effectiveness of economic programs, the development of the whole region, including in agriculture – which is the second most important field of economy for the region. I believe that we will be able to successfully resolve this objective of local and countrywide importance,” the press service of the Penza region government quotes Ivan Belozertsev.
