Over 98,000 tons grain thrashed in Penza region

Penza, 27 July 2016. PenzaNews. A total of 98,100 tons of grain harvested from 26,500 hectares of land has been thrashed in the Penza region.

As of Tuesday, July 26, the average yield in the Penza region is 37 quintals per hectare.
The highest yield (61 quintals per hectare) is in the Bekovo area, followed by Issa and Lunino Areas (44 quintals), the press service of the regional Agriculture Ministry informed PenzaNews.
“The region has thrashed 91,700 tons of winter grain from 24,200 hectares, at the average yield of 38 quintals per hectare, as well as 2,300 tons of winter false flax from 3,200 hectares at 7 quintals per hectare,” they added.
The ministry clarified that it created two task forces to help monitor the process of harvest and provide timely assistance. The groups are headed by Eduard Katashov, Assistant Minister of Agriculture, and Alexander Inyakhi, deputy head of the Department of Development of Agricultural, Food and Processing Industry Production for the regional ministry.
