Over 500 thousand tons of sugar beet harvested in Penza region

Penza, 27 September 2016. PenzaNews. Gross harvest of sugar beet in the areas of the Penza region amounted to more than 500 thousand tons, the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture told PenzaNews on Tuesday, September 27.

“The average yield is 380 kg per hectare,” the department explained.

The ministry noted that sugar refineries located in the Penza region processed 364 thousand tons of sugar beet.

“They produced 45 thousand tons of sugar,” the press service informed.
