Spring crops sown in Penza region at area of 200,000 hectares

Penza, 3 May 2017. PenzaNews. 173.5 hectares were sown with spring crops in the Penza region. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.

"Spring grain and leguminous crops were sown at the area of 97,500 hectares, industrial crops - 69,600 hectares, including sunflower - 32,000 hectares, and sugar beet - 30,900 hectares," the department specified.

The ministry added that at present farmers finish harrowing of the soil.

"The works were conducted at the area of 622,900 hectares," the press service noted.
