In Penza region spring crops sown in area of about 880,000 hectares

Penza, 30 May 2017. PenzaNews. 880,000 hectares were sown with spring crops in the Penza region. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture on Tuesday, May 30.

In Penza region spring crops sown in area of about 880,000 hectares

The area of 382,700 hectares was sown with spring grain and leguminous crops.

The press service specified that wheat occupies 137,600 hectares, barley – 103,200 hectares, corn – 42,800 hectares, leguminous crops – 41,700 hectares.

"Industrial crops were sown in the area of 387,000 hectares, sunflower occupies 254,000 hectares," the department specified.
