Production of poultry, milk and eggs increases in six months in Penza region

Penza, 7 July 2017. PenzaNews. Poultry, milk and eggs production increased in the Penza region for the period from January to June 2017 compared to the similar period last year.

As the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture reports, 121.2 thousand tons of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight were produced, including 19.1 thousand tons in June.
Compared to the similar period of 2016, poultry production increased by 1.7 thousand tons and amounted to 108.7 thousand tons.
The gross amount of milk equals to 79.4 thousand tons – the production rate is 2.9 thousand tons more than that of the previous year.
In June it amounted to 14.1 thousand tons, which is 5.1% higher than last year.
There is also an increase in milk production per dairy herd cow. In the six months, the figure was 2,842 kg, which is 8.5% more than in the same period last year.
In June, the figure amounted to 533 kg, which is 11.3% greater than in June last year.
Agricultural organizations produced 89.2 million eggs, which is 5.2% more than in the period of January-June 2016. In June 2017 there were produced 14.3 million eggs.
The average egg-laying capacity of a chicken in June 2017 amounted to 20 eggs.
