Penza, 19 August 2017. PenzaNews. Over 1,000,000 tons of grain were ground in the Penza region. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture on Saturday, August 19.

"The average yield of grain and leguminous crops in the region equals to over 40 centners per hectare," the department specified.

Speaking about the regions that showed high results during the harvesting, the regional Ministry of Agriculture mentioned the Belinsky area, where the farmers ground over 100,000 tons of grain.

"This year, agricultural producers are to harvest grain and leguminous crops from the area of 721,900 hectares," the press service said.

As it was reported before, despite difficult weather conditions, in 2017 farmers of the Penza region planned to harvest at least 2.3 million tons of grain and leguminous crops.
