Penza region farmers start to harvest soya

Penza, 18 September 2017. PenzaNews. Farmers of the Penza region started to harvest soya. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.
"Soya was harvested from the area of 377 ha, the gross output equals to 920 tonnes, the average crop capacity – 24 centners per hectare. In 2017, the farmers are to harvest soya from the area of 30,300 ha altogether," the department specified.

The ministry noted that 2,089,000 tonnes of grain and leguminous crops had been ground in the region.

"The average yield is 37 centners per hectare. Grain and leguminous crops from the area of 572,000 hectares were harvested. Over 100,000 tonnes of grain were ground in nine areas of the Penza region," the press service added.

The Ministry of Agriculture explained that the farmers were also harvesting sugar beets at that moment.

"The crop has been harvested at the area of 9,600 ha, the gross output amounts to 350,900 tonnes," the department summed up.
