Penza, 26 September 2017. PenzaNews. Farmers of the Penza region started to harvest sunflower. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.

"Sunflower was harvested from the area of 1,800 ha, the gross output equals to 2,700 tonnes, the average crop capacity – 15 centners per hectare. In the current year, the farmers are to harvest sunflower from the area of 270,500 ha altogether," the department specified.

The ministry noted that 2,251,900 tonnes of grain and leguminous crops had been ground in the region.

"Sugar beet was harvested from the area of 15,600 ha, the gross output equals to 600,000 tonnes, the average crop capacity – 385 centners per hectare. Soya was harvested from the area of 6,300 hectares. The gross output equals to 10,100 tonnes with the gross output of 16 centners per hectare," the press service added.
