Penza, 4 October 2017. PenzaNews. The gross output of the sugar beet in the Penza region exceeded 1 million tons. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.

According to the department, the average crop capacity equalled to over 395 centners per hectare, which is 7.8 centners more compared to an analogous period of 2016.

The Penza region is a leader by sugar beet yield in the Volga Federal District. In particular, in Tatarstan the yield is less than 392 centners per hectare, and in Chuvashia – slightly over 378 centners per hectare.

Sugar beet is processed at three factories. They already processed about 393,000 tons of the crop producing over 50,000 tons of sugar.
