Sugar beet yield in Penza region equals to 1.5 million tons
Penza, 17 October 2017. PenzaNews. The gross output of the sugar beet in the Penza region equalled to 1.5 million tons. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.

"Sugar beet was harvested from the area of 38.000 hectares, which made up 64% of the total area. The average yield is 399 centners per hectare. According to the indicator, the Penza region is among the leaders of the Volga Federal District," the department explained.
The press service noted that the maximum yield of the crop had been registered in the Bekovsky and Kolyshleysky areas – 434 and 437 centners per hectare respectively.
"The LLC 'Mochaleyskoe' of the Kamenka region is a leader by the sugar beet yield in the region. There, it equals to 542 centners per hectare," the ministry specified.
The department added that by that moment 100,000 tons of sugar had been produced.
"It is 6,000 tons more compared to an analogous period of the previous years," the press service explained.
