Penza, 18 October 2017. PenzaNews. 2.3 million tons of grain were ground in the Penza region. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the region.

The average yield of grain and leguminous crops is 36 centners per hectare.

Maize for grain was harvested from the area of 531 ha, 4,300 tons were ground. The average yield is 81 centners per hectare. Harvesting started in the Bashmakovsky, Zemetchinsky, Narovchatsky and Penza areas.

The gross output of the sugar beet in the Penza region equals to 1,533,000 tons, that one of the sunflower – 52,000 tons.
