Almost 2.5 million tons of sugar beetroot harvested in Penza region

Penza, 3 November 2017. PenzaNews. The gross output of the sugar beet in the Penza region equalled to 2,485,000 tons. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.

Almost 2.5 million tons of sugar beetroot harvested in Penza region

The department specified that the average yield was 399 centners per hectare.

"By a sugar beet yield indicator, the Penza region occupies the second position among regions of the Volga Federal District," the ministry noted explaining that the harvesting campaign was still in progress.
