Genetic material of the avian influenza type A was detected in Bashkiria during the events organized in the framework of verification of information on the outbreaks of this disease in the Penza region. This was reported by the press service of the veterinary administration of the republic.

The department noted that the facts of the delivery of poultry products of LLC PenzaMolInvest (a member of Damate Group) and JC Vasilyevskaya Poultry Factory (a member of Cherkizovo Group) to Bashkortostan were established.

"As a result of the study of product samples in the state-financed institution Bashkiria Scientific-Production Veterinary Laboratory genetic material of the avian influenza virus type A was detected. To confirm the results, the materials were sent to the federal state-financed institution Federal Centre for Animal Health located in Vladimir," the press service explained.

The veterinary administration of the republic added that at that moment economic relations and points of sale of poultry products used since the time of the alleged occurrence of the infection were established.

"All found products in enterprises and retail chains are sealed and insulated," the department specified.
