Kazakhstan bans import of poultry products from Penza region

Penza, 26 June 2018. PenzaNews. The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan banned the import of products of 36 Russian enterprises including three Penza ones – JC Vasilyevskaya Poultry Factory (a member of Cherkizovo Group), LLC PenzaMoilInvest and LLC New Farms (members of Damate Group) in connection with the detection of highly pathogenic avian influenza.

"The World Organization for Animal Health registered highly pathogenic avian influenza in the territory of the Russian Federation: in Kurskaya, Penza and Samara regions. According to information, epizootic situation in these areas complicated. [...] In this regard [...] it has been prohibited to import live poultry and hatching eggs, down and feather, poultry meat and all kinds of poultry products in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan since June 21, 2018," the message spread by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture states.

It is added that the equipment for keeping, slaughter and butchery of poultry previously used in the Kursk, Penza and Samara regions is also under restrictions.
