Penza, 14 August 2018. PenzaNews. Farmers of the Penza region started to harvest potatoes and vegetables. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.

To date, 17,500 tons of potatoes were harvested with an average yield of 145 hundredweights per a hectare, as well as 23,300 tons of vegetables with the yield of 146 hundredweights per a hectare.

In addition, 1,043,000 tons of grain was threshed in the Penza region. The yield of grain and leguminous crops is 27 hundredweights per a hectare.

Wheat, rye, triticale, barley, oats, peas, chickpeas, lentils, ginger, flax and mustard are being harvested.
