Penza, 28 August 2018. PenzaNews. Farmers of the Penza region started to harvest sugar beet. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.

The department noted that agricultural producers of the Kamensky area were the first to start the campaign.

"According to the latest information of the agricultural service, sugar beet was harvested from an area of 270 hectares. The total yield of the crop amounts to 6,200 tons, the average yield – to 230,000 kg per hectare," the ministry explained.

The press service specified that altogether in 2018 it is planned to harvest sugar beet from 62,000 hectares in the region.
