Penza, 13 November 2018. PenzaNews. More than 255,000 tons of livestock and poultry in live weight were produced for slaughter in farms of all forms of ownership operating in the Penza region over 10 months of 2018. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.

"This is 10.2% more than in the same period of 2017," the ministry noted, adding that in agricultural organizations the growth had amounted to 11.4%.

The ministry explained that over 10 months almost 295,000 tons of milk were produced.

"The growth of production in agricultural organizations, compared to that of the same period in 2017 amounted to 6%, in farms and individual enterprises – 5.5%," the press service said.

In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture reported that from January to October about 218 million eggs had been produced in the Penza region.
