Penza, 14 May 2019. PenzaNews. Production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight in agricultural organizations of the Penza region amounted to 111,700 tons from January to April 2019, which is 24% more than in the same period last year. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.

The department added that the gross milk yield for four months amounted to 53,700 tons.

"Milk yield per cow of dairy herd increased by 6.9% in comparison with the same period of 2018 and amounted to 2,325 kg," the press service explained.

The Ministry of Agriculture noted that since the beginning of the year 45.8 million eggs had been produced in the Penza region, and the average egg production of one bird had increased by 1.3%.
