Penza, 11 June 2019. PenzaNews. Production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight amounted to 142,400 tons in agricultural organizations of the Penza region from January to May 2019, which is 25.6% more than in the same period last year. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.

"For the first five months of 2019, the gross milk yield in agricultural organizations amounted to 68,300 tons. 2,984 kg of milk per a dairy cow was produced, which is 7.9% more than the level of the same period last year," the press service added.

The ministry noted that in the period from January to May, the average egg production of one chicken had increased by 2%, amounting to 102 pieces.
