Damage from crop failure due to drought estimated at 500 million roubles in Penza region
Penza, 25 July 2019. PenzaNews. The damage from crop failure due to adverse weather conditions is estimated at about 500 million roubles in the Penza region. This was reported by deputy chairman of the government, Minister of Agriculture of the Penza region Andrei Burlakov.

"In connection with the drought, an emergency situation regime was introduced in the region. Plants died on the area of 68,200 hectares including 40,000 hectares sown with grain and leguminous crops," he explained at a meeting of the government of the Penza region on Thursday, July 25.
Andrei Burlakov added that the Russian Ministry of Agriculture had received applications for compensation for damage caused by natural disasters.
According to the latest data, agrarians of the region have threshed more than 200,000 tons of grain and legume crops, with an average yield of 25 tons per hectare, the press service of the regional government informs.
