Penza, 15 August 2019. PenzaNews. 217.3 thousand tons of livestock and poultry for slaughter on a live weight basis were produced in farms of all forms of ownership in the Penza region in the first seven months of 2019, which is 26.4% more than in the same period in 2018. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.

"In the sector of agricultural organizations production amounted to 203.4 thousand tons, which is 28.8% more than in the seven months of last year. In family farms and individual entrepreneurs the production amounted to 1.8 thousand tons, which is 19% more than the same period in 2018," the ministry said.

The ministry added that on the contrary only 206.9 thousand tons of milk was produced over the same period in 2019, individual entrepreneurs and family farms provided 31,700 tons of the yield, which is 7.6% more than in the first 7 months of last year.

"During the reporting period, 158.4 million eggs of all kinds were produced, including 20.1 million eggs produced by family farms and individual entrepreneurs, which is 22.3% more than in the same period in 2018," the Ministry of Agriculture said.
