PenzaNews. 259,000 tons of livestock and poultry for slaughter on a live weight basis were produced in agricultural organizations in the Penza region from January to September 2019, which is 24.3% more than in the same period in 2018. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.

During the reporting period, gross milk production in agricultural organizations of the region amounted to 126.6 thousand tons. Milk production per cow of dairy herd was 5,624 kg, which is 11.2% more than in the first 9 months of last year.

In addition, 92.7 million eggs were received in the sector of agricultural organizations during the first 9 months of the current year. The average egg-laying rate per laying hen was 182 eggs, which is 1.7% higher than in the same period in 2018.
