Livestock and poultry production increase by 21% in Penza region

Penza, 23 January 2020. PenzaNews. Livestock and poultry production for slaughter increased in Penza region by 21% – from 322.5 thousand tonnes in 2018 to 389.9 thousand tonnes in 2019. This is evidenced by data from the territorial body of the Federal State Statistics Service.

According to Penzastat, agricultural organizations account for the major share. Their share in the total volume increased from 90% to 91.5%. Production increased by 23% - from 289.3 thousand tonnes to 356.8 thousand tonnes.
The share of household farms in the total volume decreased to less than 8%, while at the end of 2018 the indicator exceeded 9%. Production volume decreased by 2% - from 30.1 thousand tonnes to 29.4 thousand tonnes.
Peasant farms and individual entrepreneurs have shown growth of 18%, increasing their volume from 3 thousand tonnes to 3.6 thousand tonnes. Their share in the total volume is still 1%.
