Penza, 23 August 2020. PenzaNews. Farmers of Penza region threshed over 2 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.

“The agricultural enterprises of the region threshed 1 389 000 tonnes of winter wheat, and 22 900 tonnes of winter rye. 139 000 tonnes of spring wheat were received. Gross barley harvest is 364 700 tonnes, that of the peas – 53 700 tons, oats – 33 300 tonnes,” said the department.

The press service specified that Penza region maintained a leading position in Volga Federal District by the yield of grain and leguminous crops with an indicator of 41 centners per hectare.

“This year the farmers plan to receive about 3 million tonnes of grain,” the Ministry of Agriculture noted.
