Vadinsk, 7 March 2016. PenzaNews. The police identified a taxi driver who picked up a sum of 25,000 rubles from an elderly woman, 80, living in the Vadinsky area of the Penza region, who attempted to save her grandson from alleged criminal sentence.

“According to the elderly woman, she received a call to her household phone by an unidentified person who said her grandson had caused a traffic accident,” the press service of the Penza region Ministry of the Interior department informed PenzaNews.

To help her relative, the elderly woman followed the unidentified person’s instructions and gave the money to the taxi driver, they clarified.

“The man in question, a Vadinsk citizen, explained that an unknown person called him and ordered him to take the money and transfer to two mobile phone accounts, which he followed. An investigation is currently underway. We know that the target number is registered in a different city,” the police said.
