“We established that the man arrived to Russia approximately five months ago to seek employment. Right from the onset, he sought to be involved in drug trafficking and did not consider any other way of making money. After arriving to Moscow, the citizen of the foreign country got in touch with a drug trafficking gang organized by Tajikistan citizens, and stated he wants to join their gang. They ordered him to pick up a cache of 200 grams of heroin, which is equal to 20,000 injection doses, and depart for Penza to sell the drug,” Elena Samorukova, chief expert of information and public relations group at the regional Federal Drug Control Service department, told PenzaNews.

As she explained, the culprit reached the city by bus, rented a room in the hotel and began setting up caches with heroin.

“The man was arrested in the hotel room,” sheclarified.

The heroin in the room and in stashes has been seized, and the drug trafficker himself placed in the pretrial detention center, Elena Samorukova noted.

“In addition, the Penza drug police identified the orchestrator of the criminal gang that the culprit had joined. Currently, the leader of the gang is located in Tajikistan. We are working on joint measures with the Tajikistan national police to catch the criminal and hold him responsible for his wrongdoings,” she said.
