Penza, 8 May 2016. PenzaNews. A 17-year-old college student has been detained by the police as he faced charges for hijacking a Mercedes-Benz 200 which was parked on Ternovskovo street in Penza.

The car in question, which was produced in 1986, did not have an alarm system and was not covered by insurance, the press service of the regional Ministry of the Interior department informed PenzaNews.

“The foreign car was found by an apartment building on the third line of Ternovka in a traffic accident. The traffic police identified the culprit to be a teenager with a previous delinquency record. He confessed to the crime,” they explained.

The car has been returned to the owner, the police added.

“The misappropriation of a vehicle is currently under investigation,” they said.
