“According to investigation, the suspect in question was stopped by the traffic police while driving a vehicle without a licence, which he had lost earlier for a DUI, at the 644th km of the M5 ‘Ural’ federal highway in the afternoon of Thursday, May 5. Trying to find a way out of the punishment his actions entailed, he attempted to bribe a traffic police officer with 5,000 rubles; however, the latter rejected the attempt,” Lyudmila Fomina, senior assistant of the head of the regional Investigative Committee for media relations, told PenzaNews.
The driver’s efforts were in vain: the traffic police officer successfully registered a breach of law under Part 2, Art. 12.7 of the Administrative Code, “Driving a transport vehicle by a driver who has no right to drive the transport vehicle,” which resulted in the driver spending three days under arrest, Lyudmila Fomina pointed out.
“Now he will be facing a criminal case as well,” she added.
