Pistol-armed man assaults microfinancing organization in Penza

Penza, 11 May 2016. PenzaNews. The criminal investigators have detained a 25-year-old Penza citizen on charges of assaulting a microfinancing organization office and stealing 41,000 rubles from the cash register.

“The young man explained that he decided to engage in an armed assault due to a difficult financial situation. He disposed of his weapon – a pneumatic pistol – in a pawn shop, where it was found later. The man spent the stolen money as he saw fit,” the press service of the Penza region Ministry of the Interior department informed PenzaNews.
In addition, the investigation pointed towards the man’s potential involvement in another similar crime.
“The man is now facing a criminal case under Part 2, Art. 162 of the Criminal Code, ‘Armed Assault,’ with a possible punishment of up to 10 years in prison. He currently remains under arrest,” the police said.
