Penza, 15 May 2016. PenzaNews. A Penza citizen has lost nearly 100,000 to a fraudster.

“According to the man, he received a text message saying 8,000 rubles was withdrawn from his account. He called the phone number listed in the message. An unidentified person who introduced himself as a bank security consultant explained that he needs to follow a series of instructions at a nearby ATM to prevent further withdrawal of the funds. The victim typed in the numbers spelled out by the unidentified person, and found out that 93,000 rubles was withdrawn from his account afterwards,” the press service of the Penza region Ministry of the Interior department informed PenzaNews.

An investigation of the fraud case is underway, the police clarified.
