The police located the culprit after he stole a VAZ-2105 that was parked the Oktyabrsky city area.
“The investigators checked a number of former convicts in the field for possible involvement. The culprit ended up being a 19-year-old Penza citizen with a criminal record. He was detained and questioned, and confessed to the crime,” the press service of the Penza region Ministry of the Interior department informed PenzaNews.
According to them, the investigators also discovered that the suspect hijacked three more cars in the Penza region over a month.
“The young man was driving the stolen cars while drunk, and then abandoning them in various locations of the city. All of the hijacked cars were found and returned to their owners,” the press service explained.
As the police noted, the culprit is also suspected of being involved in stealing three bicycles that were left unattended in entryways of apartment buildings.
“He now faces a criminal case,” they concluded.
