Penza, 13 June 2016. PenzaNews. A Penza citizen was found guilty of illegally procuring and carrying drugs and repeated drunk driving, and will spend 1 year in a maximum-security penal colony as a result.

“It was established that the man in question illegally procured a batch of 0.216 g of ‘speed’ drug – which is classified as significant amount – through a network of drug stashes. Following that, he intentionally stored it in his car without the intention to sell it, where it was discovered and seized by the police,” an official representative of the Shemysheika area court informed PenzaNews.

On the very same day, after getting subjected to a fine of 30,000 rubles and having his driving license suspended for 18 months for a DUI, the man in question once again decided to drive his car drunk, all while fully realizing the wrongfulness of his actions.

“He was detained by a traffic police officer, and declined to follow the legal request to conduct an alcohol test in the presence of witnesses,” the representative added.

According to him, the man was also banned from driving any vehicles for three years.
