Man found dead with face stab wounds: Police learns details

Penza, 17 June 2016. PenzaNews. The 39-year-old man that was found dead in a flat on Glazunova street in Penza with multiple stab wounds on his face lost his life during a row with a neighbor, 29, who punched him and hit him with a chair.

“He now faces a criminal case under Part 4, Art. 111 of the Criminal Code, ‘Intentionally Causing Grievous Bodily Harm’,” Lyudmila Fomina, senior assistant of the head of the regional Investigative Committee for media relations, told PenzaNews.
According to her, the investigation showed that the 29-year-old block of flats neighbor of the deceased was involved in the case.
“Based on preliminary information, the owner of the flat and the neighbor were drinking together in the afternoon of June 15. A conflict of words sparked up between them, and the culprit punched the victim several times, and then hit him with a chair to the head and torso. The victim died at the scene from the injuries and blood loss,” she said.
The suspect has been detained and possibly facing arrest, she clarified.
“Currently, the police are working to establish the full picture of the crime. The investigation is still ongoing,” Lyudmila Fomina clarified.
According to information available to PenzaNews, the flat that served as the scene for the tragic row is still sealed off for examination.
According to other people living in the block of flats, the location has not been visited by the relatives of the deceased, or any people from the law enforcement after the inspection.
The only reminder of the recent forensic examination are the disposable gloves of a criminal scene investigator lying in the ladder landing next to the door of the flat.
The victim of the tragic drunken row lived alone for the past several months, was unemployed, and frequently resorted to alcohol.
According to the neighbors, the wife of the man left him a year ago due to his alcohol addiction, which threw him into frequent bouts of depression.
The police frequently visited the citizen, due to complaints from other people living in the apartment building, and attempted to talk him into abandoning the bad habit.
