Furniture fitter convicted for customer’s advance payment fraud in Penza

Penza, 19 July 2016. PenzaNews. A penalty of 1-year correctional labour with 5% salary deduction was prescribed to the furniture fitter, working without an employment contract in one of Penza companies, who fraudulently stole the customer’s money.

Acting intentionally, the man deceived the victim and convinced her that the tabletop will be made by the shop employees and he will then set it. Not knowing about criminal intent of the law-breaker, the woman gave him money as an advance payment. Subsequently, the furniture fitter repeatedly spoke about the impossibility to complete the order for reasons beyond his control,” the official representative of the Leninsky area court of Penza told the news agency PenzaNews.
He noted that the actions of the furniture fitter caused material damage to the victim in a significant amount.
“The court’s verdict, which found the man guilty of fraud, has entered into force,” the agency interlocutor said.
