Kamenka, 27 August 2016. PenzaNews. The police officers found 30 poppy bushes in the yard of a 56-year-old resident of Andreevka village, Kamensky area, the Penza region.

“The bushes were seized. According to expert opinion, these plants are a narcotic drug — poppy straw — weighing 524.75 grams. According to the man, he grew the plants for his own use,” the press service of the regional MIA told PenzaNews.

The ministry added that the police instituted a criminal case under p. 2 Art. 228 of the Criminal Code “Illegal purchase, storage, transportation, manufacturing, processing of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues, as well as the illegal acquisition, storage, transportation of plants containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances, or their parts containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances.”
