“She placed a sales ad at Avito.ru. After a while she received a phone call, the unknown wanted to purchase the stove, but he lived in Moscow, so the courier was to come and get it. Under the pretext of transferring the prepayment he asked the woman to go to the ATM and perform a series of actions,” the press service of the regional MIA told PenzaNews.

The Ministry clarified that, following the instructions of a stranger, the pensioner activated the service “Mobile Banking” for the phone number of the caller, and then transferred money to his account from two bank cards.

“The incident is under investigation. The police are taking measures to identify those involved in committing the crime,” the press service added.
