“On April 20, in the evening Natalia Levina along with her friend Alexander Zatsepin was in an apartment of the former father-in-law, located in Staraya Potlovka village. The woman offered Alexander Zatsepin to steal money from her ex-husband's grandfather,” the press secretary of the Penza regional court Natalia Bychenkova told PenzaNews.
She explained that Alexander Zatsepin distracted the victim's daughter, and Natalia Levina tried to get a sports jacket from under the mattress with the money in the amount of 94 thousand rubles, using the fact that the man, born 1933, was blind.
“Feeling that his jacket is being pulled out, the pensioner grabbed Natalia Levina’s arm and trying to prevent the theft attracting the attention of people in the apartment, he shouted ‘What are you doing,” the agency interlocutor added.
According to her, the woman quickly pulled her hand out of the pensioner’s, took the jacket with the money, and ran out of the apartment.
“As a result, Natalia Levina is sentenced for cumulative sentences of 3 years and 3 months in a penal colony. Alexander Zatsepin — to 4 years in a strict penal colony,” Natalia Bychenkova explained.
She noted that disagreeing with the verdict, the convicts filed appeals.
“The verdict of the court of first instance has been changed, but it did not affect the sentence imposed,” the press secretary of the regional court reported.
